Early Tourney Predictions?

Anyone want to throw up some early tourney predictions?

I heard Va Tech is looking good with new recruits as well as a few young recruits for Catholic...both look poised to make deep tourney runs..

Anyone on Pitt for a 3-peat??

Does anyone know anything about BC or Rutgers-- legit or smoke?

And...what is going on with Penn State and JMU?? We know that they don't bring out their tourney team during the regular season so it might just be that, but still...

Re: Early Tourney Predictions?

If I'm remembering correctly, Rutgers only had one loss in the regular season last year and it was to Pitt, who ended up winning it all. I don't think they have a lot of bombers, but they're one of those scrappy teams that finds a way to win. Wouldn't pick them as a favorite to go too deep, but also wouldn't be shocked if they did.

Catholic always seems to reload and have a new non-alum each year.

Heard the same thing about Va Tech. Was told they massively upgraded the men on their team, with a new non-alum and I think 2 new alum guys.

I heard Tufts is pretty solid this year too. NC State is only 6-3, but I bet they make a long tourney run. They added a new non-alum girl who is real solid.

I'll say this: looking at the likely 4 seeds: the division winners should hope they don't draw Yale. They're much better than their record, and would probably make for a feisty 3 seed even. Xavier's always frisky too.

Re: Early Tourney Predictions?

Down to four undefeated teams- Catholic, Tufts, Pitt, and Maryland.

Maryland has a few games left against decent teams, but no powerhouses.

Catholic hasn't really played anyone too challenging yet, other than maybe Wake Forest? who had a good run last year. Remaining schedule looks pretty easy as well.

Pitt and Tufts play each other tomorrow, so someone is grabbing a loss. Pitt's schedule looks relatively easy after Tufts, having already beaten Penn State and American. Tufts still has to play Villanova.

You never know when someone will have trouble bringing their best roster to a game, but I'm guessing Catholic and Maryland both go undefeated, as well as whoever wins the Pitt v Tufts game.
