07 FB Stats, Week 4

Recall, there were three games that were rescheduled from this week - WVU-USF, UT-UVA, GW-JMU.

Other interesting notes:
* 42 shutouts in 87 games (not counting forfeits). Is that a good or bad thing?
* UMass - with zero wins - is ahead of USC - with three wins - in the Colley metrix. Funny.
* Richmond - with one win - is behind 14 team with no wins.

i had the same thought about the high number of shut-outs.

there were a lot of reg. season blowouts in softball, but i wonder if the gap btwn strong and not-so-strong teams is even bigger in football, which requires more teamwork for a single score, etc..

One thing to consider - a mistake in football will cost you 6 (7) points. A mistake in softball will cost you only a few (though one can make the argument for the cascading effect).
