Re: Possible seeds

you have the wins for tufts and maybe others wrong. If What Rocks' sources are correct about the BC game, this is how the possible seeds actually look (sorry for the bad formatting):

Seeding Team
1 Pittsburgh
2 American
3 Virginia Tech
4 Villanova
5 Minnesota
6 Wake Forest

7-8 Ohio, Maryland

9-10 Richmond, James Madison

11-16 Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida, PSU, Michigan, Vanderbilt,

17-22 WVU, W&Mary, Navy, Mich State, Notre Dame, BC

23-32 Emory, Mason, Texas, Indiana, Tufts, Arizona, Stanford, UNC, Illinois, Virginia

33-36 G-town, Cornell, Duke, Tenn.

37-42 Mellon, Xavier, Baylor, Colorado, FSU, Wisconsin

43-48 Bucknell, GW, NC St., UConn, Cal, GA Tech

49-53 Clemson, Georgia, UMass, Purdue, S. Carolina

54-60 ASU, Yale, Dayton, Penn, BU, Hopkins, Marquette

61-63 Tulane, Delaware, Syracuse

64-66 Providence, Embry-Riddle, Ohio St.

Hmmmm...looks like Navy might have a chance of being in the winners bracket on Saturday since they don't have to play Xavier.

I just re-checked them all. it appears that the tufts record was the only incorrect one. i'm not sure how that happened, definitely not trying to take away from the team that ended our tourney run last year. my apologies.

By the way Dave, I speak for myself and probably my team, but I don't want to play MD this Sunday for round 1. Next Sunday, sure.

I see your point Dave, but I'd rather just go easy the first round... I'm trying to think why, but I can't seem to come up with a good reason.

I have no problem having to go through the toughies once next weekend comes along. I've never had the opportunity to see many of the teams play - it'll be cool to see the strengths of the other top 10 teams and see if we can do our thing.

Is there a blank bracket floating around anywhere yet? Do the 66 teams get down to 64 somehow first?

Looks like JMU might be able to open up the tournament vs. ASU for the 3rd year in a row... I'm still waiting for the chicks in ASU56's avatar to show up.

Oh and by the way, I think the "Main Chat" and "Numbers and Statistics" forums should be merged. People end up talking about the same things anyway, so it would be easier just to go to one forum for everything.

There's a play in game between 66/63 and 65/64 to get down to 64 teams

Not that I particularly care, but since those two teams that lose those play in games aren't eliminated, how does the loser's bracket set up with 34 teams there after Sunday? Do the losers of the 32/33 and 31/34 matchup get a bye in the loser's bracket?

ASU56 and I will take it into consideration - most of the numbers talk does stay in the numbers forum, though.

FWIW, I like having a seperate Numbers forum. Us geeks can hang out in here without being bothered by pictures of pecan pie and BUinDC.
